Long-timers at the British Library's main reading room complain that newer users on their laptops just don't look like they're working. They are using their computers and checking things on the Web, not just taking notes on notepads."
To be fair, the article notes that some of the newer patrons also regularly answer their cell phones while in the reading room, which is an offense properly punished by caning.
