Looks like the Senate's trying to finally tie off the sausage on a major patent reform bill. Best of luck! We've got big tech arguing that they're trying to make the world safe from "patent trolls" and limit what they have to pay when -- whoopsie! -- they infringe on existing claims. Then there's big pharma and tech upstarts arguing that innovation relies upon bold patent defense. Also a factor: gov't patent examiners are reportedly too rushed to make heads or tails of complex patent apps -- one reason USPTO has resorted to Slashdot-inspired prior art review system. (Thanks, Hannah, for the heads up.)
